Multiplying by 10 and 100

MrsHinsley's maths group have been multiplying by 10 and 100 and describing the effect. Then they used this skill to multiply multiplesof 10.

Can you try these at home to see if you still have the skill?

5 x 100, 19 x 10, 26 x 100, 45 x 10, 67 x 10

What about trying these

5 x 30, 7 x 80, 5 x 90, 6 x 60, 7 x 80

Can you dsescribe what happens when you multiply by 10 or a 100?

I can feel lots of housepoints in the air for anyone who has a go.

Good Luck

You just add one 0 to the answer when you times it by 10

You just add two 0 to the answer when you times it by 100
